THE REHABILITATION AND MODERNIZATION PROJECT, ESMERALDAS REFINERY, ECUADOR

This is my first job abroad, motivated by new challenges, innovative technology, and achieving results.

ESMERALDA REFINERY, ECUADOR

The goal of this project is to replace and install oil and gas equipments  in order to  get the rehabilitation and modernization of the110,000-b/d Esmeraldas refinery that will require intermittent periods of suspended operations at the plant.

The rehabilitation and modernization project began on July 12 2014, with operations of unidentified processing units temporary suspended to begin maintenance work on infrastructure within the refining complex.

The rehabilitation of the Esmeraldas refinery aims to equip the plant to operate at 100% of its nameplate operational and production capacity as well as increase its environmental performance by reducing emissions levels that conform to national and international standards, according to an Apr. 18 release from Ecuador’s Ministry of Non-Renewable Hydrocarbons. During my career as an engineer I have been on two construction projects, in both I received special recognition.

The consortium VONE - HYUNDAI, at 23 days of December 2014 I was given  a diploma as a special recognition for my tireless work and outstanding support to the Conversion Deep Project at refinary of Puerto La Cruz.

This can be understood  as my commitment and dedication to the work. It is very important to myself overtake the spectation of my clients, and this is the result.

FIBER GLASS PIPES

FIBER GLASS PIPES

Developed in the late 1940's, fiberglass pipe is a composite product, made of glass fiber reinforcements, which are embedded in, or surrounded by, thermosetting resin and subsequently cured.
GRVE
FIBER GLASS SISTEM
Known for being strong, resilient and flexible, fiberglass is the ideal material for pipe production and is used extensively throughout the Infrastructure, oil and gas and industrial sectors. Products including glass reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes, glass reinforced epoxy (GRE) pipes and glass reinforced vinyl ester (GRVE) pipes have an extraordinary ability to service a wide array of applications within all end-markets

INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF THE RECYCLE GAS FURNACE

INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF THE RECYCLE GAS FURNACE

I will share to you how I carried out the inspection and repair of the pre heater furnace of train 1 and I will explain the methodology that applied to achieving my objectives.

I began to work on this project in 5th  April to 15th April 2005. I worked on this for ten days.
I was in rol as “INSPECTION CORDINATOR/ SHUT DOWN” in ORINOCO IRON COMPANY

It was  a  repair project. I did  it As a part of the activities programmed for the shut down #08 of the train 1 Modulo #2, I proceeded to carry out the inspection routines and the fixtures in the pre heater furnace pipes.

 WORKING IN ORINOCO IRON

Orinoco Iron is a  iron ore reducing plant (briquette plant) where I worked over 11 years, which has many equipments widely used in oil refinery processes, because Orinoco Iron has to produce reformer gas from natural gas as a part of its internal process

This plant started up in 2000 by IBH and BHP Billinton companies and it is an iron ore reduction plant, which transforms the iron ore in briquettes of pure iron of 84% of metallic. The process used for this purpose is FINMET that means "fine metallic" and this technology was developed by Venezuelan people. It was built in Matanzas Puerto Ordaz Edo Bolívar Venezuela. It  has a capacity of 2,0 million tons of briquettes per year. This plant is constituted by two modules of a million tons each one. Each module has two trains of production and each one produce one thousand and five houndred tons (1700) by day.
