RPLC DEEP CONVERSION PROJECT
The
goal of this project is to install oil and gas equipments in order to
facilitate the conversion of heavy and extra heavy crude oil into high
quality refined fuel products. Place: Puerto La Cruz Refinery.
The Puerto La Cruz refinery is one of the processing centers of major oil company PDVSA and integrates a circuit manufacture of oil extracted in the fields of Monagas and Anzoategui, Venezuela.
Geographically, this plant covers three operational areas: Puerto La Cruz, El Chaure and San Roque, located in the north and center of the state of Anzoategui, with total crude processing capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, which are obtained 73,000 barrels of gasoline and naphtha, 12,000 barrels of kerosene-jet, 43 thousand barrels of oil and 73 barrels of waste, and required inputs for mixing fuels marketed in the domestic and export markets.

PDVSA signed a contract for engineering,
support to the acquisition and management of construction services of
the DEEP CONVERSION PROJECT in Puerto La Cruz Refinery, with JGC
Corporation and Chiyoda Japan consortium. The Venezuelan Inelectra will
also use Venezuelan HDH Plus technology created in INTEVEP to process
heavy and extra heavy crude from the Orinoco Oil Belt (FPO).
The Deep Conversion Project moves into its second phase to ensure a change in the diet of the
East-Refining center. It will have to adapt its current facilities and
build 11 new process units, 6 ancillary units and 8 units of industrial
services that will have the most advanced technology for the global
refining market, thanks to the processing of new raw currents of greater
density. Read More.
HYUNDAI group won the contracts to install piping and equipments in this project. I am working as a Piping Supervisor, belong to the Piping Staff. My responsibilities involved in this job are:
- Ensure that all staff complies with the requirements of the installation procedures.
- Take all necessary precautions and safe methods to implement the installation procedures.
- Ensure that all activities are executed in accordance with the requirements of PDVSA / HYUNDAI. Establish and define methods for the efficient execution of the task.
- Plan together with the Engineer and review construction activities.
- Ensure that equipments and tools in use are in good condition.
- Ensure implementation of the Specific Plan of Safety, Environment and Health during the execution of the activity.
- Execute the work according to "Work Risks Analisis" and technical evaluation of the Health and Safety Coordinator.
- Explain to the personnel the risks involved in the activities.
